2015 - the Year to Listen

I have always considered myself a good listener.  I'm not much of a talker so it seems only natural that I listen.  I try to listen intently and focus on what the other person has to say, not with just one ear while listening to other conversations around me, but with all of me.

That is not the kind of listening I am talking about now.  I am talking about listening to God.  I have had a few things happen this fall/winter that have caused me to doubt the direction I am going with this life that God has given me.  I want to listen more intently to Him just like I listen to others so that I can be sure that I am going in the direction He wants me to, not the one that I want to.  I am challenging myself to "be still and know that He is God".  Psalm 46:10  To "be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him".  Psalm 37:7  To be still so that I may listen and hear His voice.

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:7
